EXPANDED COVERAGE FOR MEDICAID AND SCHIP

Expanded Coverage for Medicaid and SCHIP

New data from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities reveal that 11 states raised their eligibility levels for Medicaid for parents in the two years since data were last collected, and seven of those states raised their eligibility levels from double-digit percentage levels to at least 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL).  These changes bring to 11 the total number of states with eligibility levels of at least 200% of FPL.  New Mexico enacted the largest increase in eligibility level, from 67% to 409% of FPL.
